About Us

Our Story

Sainik Academy Mysuru is one of Karnataka’s most trusted defence training institutes. Founded
by Retired Commando C. M. Sridhara, the academy began with just 12 dedicated students in
Belavadi. Today, it has grown into a premier training hub producing dozens of Agniveers every
year.
With years of frontline service and a passion for mentoring the next generation, Sir Sridhara
established this academy on the belief that every hardworking youth deserves a chance to serve
the nation.

To empower the youth of Karnataka with the courage, confidence, discipline, and skill required
to serve India with pride.

Meet Our Founders

I am Shridhara C M, an Indian Army Veteran and Ex-NSG (Black Cat) Commando, with 18 years of service in the Maratha Light Infantry. I joined the Indian Army in October 2000 from Bengaluru and served in critical operational areas including Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and high-altitude border regions up to 18,000 ft.

I have served with Rashtriya Rifles, protected the Amarnath Yatra, and was part of counter-insurgency and border operations. From 2008 to 2011, I served as a Black Cat Commando (NSG) and was involved in the 26/11 Mumbai operations. In January 2013, during operations in the Uri sector, I neutralized three enemy intruders and was awarded a Commendation by the GOC-in-C, Northern Command. I also served on a United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (2014–2015).

After active Service from the Indian Army in August 2018, I founded Sainik Academy (R), Mysuru in July 2020. Over the past 5 years,

6th posted in Rajouri (Jammu), Amranath Temple (Kashmir) protected to yatrajan which is High Altitude area near 15000 fts and Uri Sector (Kashmir) which is High Altitude Area..14000ft.

The 7th special service posted Black Cat Commando (NSG) from 2008 to 2011, involved 26/11 Mumbai operations.

9th posted again Uri sector Kashmir where I have Killed 3 enemies on 06 Jan 2013 at Pakistan Border, awarded Commendation by GOC-in- Northern Command.

Co – Founder of Sainik Academy Mysuru

Driven by a lifelong passion for national defense, I co-founded Sainik Academy Mysore alongside my husband, Sridhar C.M. My journey is rooted in a deep respect for military discipline—a commitment that led me to marry a soldier and dedicate my career to shaping future defenders of our nation.

As the academy’s foundational support and a BCom graduate, I oversee the holistic development of our candidates. While the tactical training is led by Sridhar Sir, I focus on building the mental resilience and character required for the Indian Army. Having experienced the reality of military life firsthand, I serve as a mentor who transforms student aspirations into a legacy of service and honor.
